I took this interesting photograph of the 99% full moon early this morning at around 2 AM. It captures the mood I felt very well, but of course the detail isn't there. This is heavily processed using Camera+ and after import to my iMac, Aperture 3. I like it.
Messier 5 iPhone 4 and iPad Space Wallpaper
The third and final image in my series of space wallpapers for the iPhone 4 and iPad. NASA is amazing. This is a photograph of the Messier 5 globular cluster. These stars are over 12 billion years old. They are located about 25,000 light years away. Wow. Looks great on your iDevice!

Carl Sandburg High School Prom
On April 29th I took a trip out to the suburbs, Orland Park to be exact, to make some portraits for a group of lovely couples. With all luck on our side, the day turned out to be a wonderful summery day in spring. Here are a few of my favorites. Click the link at the bottom of this post to be taken to the entire gallery.
Meathook Galaxy iPhone 4 and iPad Space Wallpaper
Here is my second wallpaper using some of NASA's imagery. The last of the three will come late this evening. This one is based on an image of the Meathook Galaxy found on the Hubble Space Telescope's website. You'll find a 25.2 MB version on their site to download as well. Again, the detail in the photograph is stunning. Enjoy.

Shadows
"What drives me to be an artist, to make the work I do and I think that a large part of being an artist is being delusional. You have to be totally delusional and slightly narcissistic. You have to be delusional to think that you’re going to think up stuff and people are going to be interested in it." – Phil Toledano
Winter's Aftermath

Spring Is Coming
The snow is melting, running underground through miniature caverns. It's quite beautiful. But, it's frightening knowing that all over the earth, much more massive glaciers and snowcapped mountain peaks are suffering the same free flowing melt.
